How can you help Dan’s family?

Many people continue to hear about Dan’s story and ask how can they get involved and help support the family. This post will serve as a base of information on a number of ways to get involved to help support Barbara, Taylor, Nathan and Rachel for years to come.

A HUGE “Thank you” to everyone that has already contributed to the family for your amazing support. This is just the beginning and we’re focused not only on their immediate needs now, but sustaining a support effort for the duration.

Immediate Financial Support

We are asking that in lieu of gifts or flowers, donations be made to an account for “The Family of Dan Slarve”. You can make a donation online or by check.

Long Term Financial Support

We are currently exploring the possibility of setting up a trust for the children’s education needs. This trust would allow for tax deductible donations. Stay tuned for additional information when this is available.

Home Improvement Projects / Yardwork

Please contact Rich Harrington (rharrington_2002@yahoo.com) for any home improvement or yard work services. Rich has been in contact with Barbara and in time will be developing a punch list of projects and to do’s around the house.

There will be a couple of larger work parties scheduled for mid-July and August. Details will be posted here on the website.

Childcare

Please contact Diana Gearing (bajabums@earthlink.net) if you are able to provide any childcare assistance. This will be a small group of known parents, preferably with children who are known and friends of the Slarve children. This could consist of scheduled play dates for the children, babysitting at the Slarve house or coordinated pick-up and drop-offs.
